Srinagar, March 22 (KNO) : Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani strongly condemned yet another ‘barbaric slaughter’ of Kashmiri youth in Hajan and termed it as ‘worst kind of state terrorism’. Paying tributes to the slain of Sopore, Hajan and Shopian encounters, Geelani as per a statement issued to KNO said that “New Delhi through its forces has crossed all the limits of barbarism, ruthlessness and unabated killings, arrests, psychological and physical torture, jails and interrogations centers, threatening by investigation ghosts is a new norm and a hobby of their point man occupying the state governance behind the veil of volatile situation.” “But India will never succeed in its nefarious designs in diluting and crushing the sentiment of freedom and ongoing movement for right to self-determination, as Kashmiri people are determined to continue the ongoing sacred movement of the martyrs till it reaches the logical conclusion and will never allow these supreme sacrifices go waste,” he said. Condemning the use of brute force against the civilians protestors in Shopian, Hurriyat chairman said that “on the pretext of search and cordon operations common people are deliberately targeted and victimized by the men in uniform. In this grim situation the life of common people has became miserable and vulnerable at the hands of armed forces in every nook and corner of the state.” Condemning the closure of Jamia Masjid Srinagar yet again, Geelani said that preventing people from offering prayers by the ‘fascist rulers’ through its yes-men is an ample proof that they cannot tolerate any other faith under their rule. While terming such ‘acts of terror’ unfortunate and unacceptable, Pro-freedom leader said that “Authorities are hell bent to curb and strangulate the genuine aspirations and political voice for nation’s basic and fundamental rights, right to self-determination, which is not only recognized, but legitimized as well by the world powers particularly United Nations, but India is stuck in the denial mode of this age old issue and any voice to remind it is responded with a brutal muscular power.” He appealed international community, global peers, freedom loving nations and rights champions to peep into these deadly suffocating and desperate inhabitants of this unfortunate valley and help them out of this unending nightmare.(KNO)
